For over 26 years, Haldimand-Norfolk Community Senior Support Services programs have allowed seniors to maintain healthy, independent lives. One of the most valuable services they offer their clients is transportation to and from activities and medical appointments.
Haldimand-Norfolk Community Senior Support Services Executive Director Carolyn Symes says without the van repairs, many members of our rural community would be without the affordable transportation they rely on.
The grant from the Caledonia Community Foundation (CCF) will allow Senior Support Services to make the necessary repairs to ensure all vehicles are safe and certified roadworthy by the MTO for the over 200 clients who depend on Senior Support Services’ transportation each month.
Haldimand-Norfolk Community Senior Support Services Executive Director Carolyn Symes says without the van repairs, many members of the community would be without affordable transportation. “Due to living in a rural community, many of our clients rely heavily on our transportation service. Without us, taxis are the only other way to get around to appointments which can prove very costly.”
