Neil Paul Bursary Fund

Neil Paul Bursary Fund

The Neil Paul Bursary Fund was established by his family and friends to honour him and his love of language and the arts.

During Neil’s teaching career in both the Cayuga and Caledonia Secondary Schools, he passionately aimed to instill in his students his deep love of literature and how that could enrich their lives.  He was keenly interested in what his students thought in his English classes and he challenged them to speak out on issues that mattered to them, even if they were controversial or unpopular.  As a teacher, he was a good friend and listener.  His patience for those going through challenges was just one example of how he demonstrated his empathy and sincerity.  He saw value in each student.

Each year, a graduating student from McKinnon Park Secondary School will be selected to receive a financial award to be used for full time post secondary education whether college or university.  That student should share Mr. Paul’s love of language and the arts and embody the patience and caring he exemplified.

The fund is maintained and administered by the Caledonia Community Foundation on behalf of the organizers which makes all donations eligible for charitable donations.  To provide your support and make a donation, contact the Foundation, the organizers or make your donation directly through the Caledonia Community Foundation. Here is how to donate or Donate online now – make sure to select the Neil Paul Bursary fund in the drop down menu.
